This lesson is dedicated to the life and work of Vladimir Visotskiy – soviet singer, poet, theater and cinema actor. Visotskiy is one of the superior Russian singers. Everybody was listening to his songs: from convicts to members of Politburo. Last year Visotskiy could have celebrated his 80th birthday yet he is still insanely popular. His work is a book of reference to the soviet life. The lesson is based on a video clip, which addresses the significance of this iconic personality for the whole generation of soviet people. The video includes fragments of the singer’s live performances and photos from personal archive. The tasks are composed in a way that excludes any comprehension difficulties of the cultural background of the time. Questions for discussions in pairs and in a group plus creative task for solitary work are also included.
